Simon is a highly experienced employment lawyer, an area of law in which he has advised as a solicitor for more than 30 years.
His focus is on seeking to achieving the solution which clients want or, if that’s not possible, the next best thing. Although employment law is a technical subject which is constantly changing (that’s what makes it interesting), Simon always brings a commercial approach to the way in which he advises. The most important question he asks a client in any situation is “what do you want to achieve?”, and his advice is tailored to achieve that.
Simon advises on the full range of employment law and has a particular interest in providing “day to day” advice to corporate clients and also advising on contentious matters. He has expertise in advising on restrictive covenants and business protection and often deals with High Court litigation, whether for an ex-employer, a new employer or an individual. Simon also conducts claims in the Employment Tribunal and has considerable experience in advising on TUPE and discrimination issues.
Simon has many longstanding clients – he is still advising a corporate client which he first dealt with in 1988. Building that sort of relationship with a client through understanding how their business works and their commercial imperatives highlights Simon’s added value approach.
Outside of law, Simon is a keen squash player, hill walker and cyclist and has the burden of supporting Charlton Athletic.Back to People →
