Michelle is well known for her practical approach to resolving clients’ property disputes.
Michelle works closely with commercial landlords and tenants helping them resolve a range of property matters. In particular, Michelle has knowledge and experience assisting both landlords and tenants in matters such as litigious commercial lease renewals, dilapidations claims, Leases under the Telecommunications Act and breaches of covenant. She also advises landlords in relation to tenant insolvency and advises and acts in the recovery of rent and service charge arrears and in cases involving landlords’ right of forfeiture.
Michelle also makes up half of the Licensing Team with Kelly Peck. She deals with general Licensing enquiries and advices on applications to the Local Licensing Authority for new licences and for transfers of licences and advices in respect of Temporary Event Notices.
In addition, Michelle works with Private Registered Providers of Social Housing and Local Authorities to help them resolve various housing law issues. In particular, Michelle has specialist expertise in helping Social Landlords to manage anti-social behaviour and other issues of tenant default. Michelle also advises private sector landlords and letting agents to manage all areas of tenant default in the Private Housing sector.
She has considerable experience conducting hearings in the County Courts.
