Clare prides herself on being approachable to clients to ensure their needs are dealt with in a personalised and professional manner.
Clare is head of Wealth Preservation Cambridge, mainly based in the Cambridge office she also has a presence in Peterborough and London when required. Clare’s work includes drafting tax efficient and flexible wills, family settlements, ancillary trust documents and lasting powers of attorney, dealing with the administration of estates and advising on general estate planning. Clare takes a keen interest in assisting farming families and landowners and is a member of CLA (Country Land and Business Association) and a Fellow of the ALA (Agricultural Law Association).
Clare recognises the importance of working with clients (in conjunction with their other advisers where appropriate) to ensure that their needs are understood and the best possible solution is found in the most time and cost-efficient manner.
Clare passed her STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates with distinction and is a fully qualified member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
She is also a key member of the Greenwoods GRM Agricultural and Rural Business team. Having grown up in a farming family, Clare particularly grasps the issues those running rural businesses can face when it comes to estate probate.
Clare is a keen baker and ensures that she uses her weekends to try out new recipes. She has a professional cake decorating qualification.
Recent work has included:
- Advising clients on significant estate planning including Wills, LPAs, Trusts, IHT planning including APR and BPR and lifetime gifting in connection with estates valued in excess of £16m.
- Advising clients on the transfer of 450-500 acres of agricultural land into a discretionary trust to protect the farm for future generations.
- Working alongside our corporate team to advise clients on succession planning of a substantial family business, IHT planning and the preparation of a shareholder’s agreement, Wills and LPAs.
- Review and updating clients’ Wills following a partial realisation of a private shareholding of a substantial family business in the value of £10m. Providing detailed advice concerning inheritance tax planning and lifetime gifting.
