Are you ready for GDPR? : a video blog from David Woods
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force on the 25th May 2018.
This will see many changes to the UK Data Protection Laws, which businesses will need to prepare for well in advance.
Our Director of Corperate and Commercial, David Woods, explains more:
Under the GDPR, you are required to tell people who you are, what you plan to do with their information, and who you will share it with. You will then need to obtain their consent to use their data in that way.
Another change under the GDPR is that consent for all purposes will now need to be ‘opt in’ consent. It will require some kind of clear, affirmative action by an individual – not a pre-ticked box. You will also be required to keep a record of how and when that consent was given.
How can we help?
We can advise on the changes being brought in by the GDPR. This includes how to maximise your marketing activities, your compliance with processing personal data, and any data protection audit services you may require. Contact our team on 01733 887793 or email David Woods.
